This book is about the missing piece to the Abundant Life puzzle. How it got lost seems almost incomprehensible since Jesus could not have made it more clear. This is about three great discoveries:

    • The wonder of who God is

The wonder of who I am

What God really wants from us and why

The discoveries were not made through great success, but rather the opposite. This is the story of a journey of faith by a man who at the age of sixteen knew he was to be a minister, who at age twenty-two started a very successful Teen Challenge Center, and who after pastoring for fourteen years lost his way and let go of the God he had loved since childhood. God, however, never let go of him.
If you are hungry, this story and the challenging study of God's Word it produced will change your life.

John Tuff was born and raised in the Finger Lakes region of central New York. Upon graduation from Roberts Wesleyan College he became the founding director of the Teen Challenge Center in Rochester, New York. This was followed by fourteen years as a pastor, ten years as a counselor, and then back into the pastorate for the past eight years. He has a master's degree in counseling from SUNY Brockport. His spiritual journey has led him to the conviction that God is love. He does not just have love, He is love. That discovery saved John's life and has shaped every aspect of his ministry. He thoroughly enjoys his life as pastor of Fairport Community Baptist Church and shares that adventure with his wife, Patty, three children, and three grandchildren. His greater desire is to help peoClick here to purchase book ple to know the "Magic of God's Love."

Your grasp of God's unconditional love and the way you express it is so powerful. Even the struggles in the midst of the victories along the way. For some reason it seems a lot of believers think or expect that the Christian life is going to be one long steady rise…a plateau here and there but mostly progressive, upward movement. How refreshing (and disarmingly honest) to share the pain and challenges even in the midst of discovering the depth and breadth of the Magic.”

Cecil Van Houten, Family Life Network

“To me, it is part biography, part sermon and much practical advice for living as followers of Christ. There are some great realizations in there, that most of us take ages to learn, and often forget even after we have been hit on the head with them!! I will endeavor to live in the "Magic" each day. ”

Barb Miller, Music and Retreat Leader - Gilroy, California

“I want to encourage those of you interested in learning more about God’s love to get a copy of this and read John’s account. Sometimes you will get books that seem over your head but John has put the subject of God’s love on easy to understand terms by showing you how it has impacted and affected his own life. John is pastor of Fairport Community Baptist Church in Fairport, NY. I have had the privilege of spending time with him and I can tell you personally that he, like King David, is a man after God’s own heart. If you are an individual struggling to better understand the love of God this book is for you. If you are wanting to help others understand the love of God, this book if for you. It would also make a great study book for small groups or disciple training classes”.

Ernie Couch of Ernie Couch and Revival Gospel Singing Group, Nashville Tennessee

"Reading John Tuff’s The Magic of God’s Love: The Love Theology of the Bible has led me to reflect on my own life of faith. “Theology,” as a technical word, means “the science or study of God.” In the way that Pastor Tuff uses the term, theology is the biography of faith. By looking with care at the length, valleys, and rills of my life, I see what Tuff sees – a divine hand guiding, pushing, pulling, cajoling, and lifting me in my journey.
The author also has a peculiar meaning for his use of the word “magic.” Stereotypically, magic is making something happen that can’t happen naturally. It is an improbable cause for an effect that is both sudden and dramatic. Tuff reverses this process. For him, magic is what happens when we realize that God is the cause and human faith is the result. Magic is in the realization that even in those times when we sense only abandonment God has been there with us, loving us to spiritual health.
Tuff writes with sobering vulnerability and delightful openness about his encounter with the love theology of the Bible. His story is real. His conclusions can be trusted. He has made both his book and himself a resource for others who search for both love and magic in their lives. Readers of The Magic of God’s Love will find a refreshing look at faith and insight into the way God uses the energy of love to change lives and restore joy to the world."

W. Kenneth Williams, Senior Pastor, First Baptist Church of Rochester, NY
